Chandeleur Fishing At It's Finest.

Pratically family . . .

The Joka’s Wild Family has been together for a long time . . .and there’s a reason . . .we’re practically family . . .in some cases we are!

You’ll talk with Sharon to schedule your trip.  Capt. George will make sure you know  to talk to her first . . .he does.  She’s his wife!

Once you’re done talking with Sharon, you’ll meet Capt. George.  He IS the Joka’s Wild Experience (and a nice guy to boot!).  “Georgie” as his friends and family call him, is a Biloxi native.  He grew up on the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.  Capt. George started in the fishing industry at the young age of 16.  He started by building a small head charter boat in his backyard on Howard Avenue with his father, the late George “Nidgy” Pelaez.  They dubbed this first boat the “Little Luck.”  That was all the “luck” they would need.  After the “Little Luck” the duo went on to build the Jesse-Mike, Kacie, Risha, and Ave Maria, all shrimp boats.

As the Mississppi Gulf Coast grew and evolved, so did the fishing industry.  George and his father evolved as well, venturing into the yacht-building arena.  George did many conversions on yachts and dive boats, then went on to  build the 120-foot Obsession.  After the Obsession, George build the Joka’s Wild (version 1), and operated this boat out of the Point Cadet Marina.  It was used as a Chandeleur Charter Boat to fish the Chandeleur Islands.  Loving his new career field, and realizing the needs of the industry, Capt. George designed and built the fully aluminum Joka’s Wild (version 2).  The Joka II was operated for 7 years, retiring to make room for the third and final (or so he says) Joka III.,

You are fishing on the crem-de-la-crem of the Chandeleur Fishing Scene.  If Georgie wanted it, it’s on this boat.  We know you’ll have a first class fishing experience aboard the Joka’s Wild.

Speaking of First Class . . . Let’s introduce you to the rest of our crew!

There’s Kirk “Kirky” Thompson.  Born and raised in Biloxi, Mississippi.  Kirky has fished these waters since he could walk and can definitely point you toward some fish.  Our second deckhand and cook, Bubba Kisner, is also a Biloxi native.  His food is sure to leave you with a full belly and wanting for a nap.

You might also meet the Captain’s son, Jordy.  He’ll be on board to work every now and then.

Last but not least, there’s the little guy—Donovan.  He’s a little over 4 feet tall and basically rules the roost.  He’ll name just about every fish you can find in the Gulf of Mexico.  He loves to fish and hang out at the boat with his Papa (George) and his Mamere (Sharon).
